Why do vegetarians wear leather shoes?
this is getting frustrating. leather shoes play such a big role in "dressing nice" these days. I try and find hemp alternatives but they just dont look like you could wear a suit with them. And now they are even making hemp shoes with leather mixed in. What do you guys think, is it possible to justify wearing leather shoes but not eating meat? Not everyone who is a vegetarian does it out of concern for animal welfare. However, if that is your motivation, then I agree wearing leather shoes seems inconsistent. I'm not sure where you draw the line however because so many products and drugs are the end result of actual animal substances or involve(d) animal testing. I suppose a common justification for this halfheartedness would be "doing something" as opposed to "doing nothing".
